Why join cvms?

Connecticut Valley Mycological Society is a non-profit organization of amateur mycologists who are committed to the promotion of scientific and educational activities related to fungi. Through membership and attendance of weekly forays, you will increase your knowledge of local and seasonal wild mushrooms!

Our members have varied interests in the field of mycology including taxonomy, cultivation, medicinal uses of fungi, ecology, mycophagy (the cooking and eating of mushrooms), and the practical uses of fungi.

Membership also includes invitations to several great potluck events featuring many mushroom dishes and other fantastic cooking! Members have access to the CVMS lending library, a wonderful opportunity to preview fungi guides before personal purchase.

Weekly club forays are open to paid  members only.

Membership fees are paid yearly, or there is a one-time lifetime membership fee.

CVMS is affiliated with North American Mycological Association, and CVMS members may join NAMA at a discounted rate.

Note for new members: the yearly schedule and handbook will be mailed to you in April.
